Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Device Evaluations and Treatment

At Hoboken Speech Stars, we provide expert evaluations and treatment sessions for children and young adults who may benefit from Augmentative and Alternative Devices (AAC devices). From simple paper communication boards to high tech ipads with robust applications, we are able to fit your loved one to a device, down to the settings or grid size. Our AAC services are designed to support individuals with complex communication needs, such as individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum or are post stroke. During our comprehensive AAC evaluation, we assess each individual’s strengths to select a robust device for them. Then we provide ongoing therapy to ensure generalization and establish the implementation of the device into the individual’s everyday life. Our goal is that the individual communicates confidently and effectively using the tools that are best for them!
